Next Gen: Architecture And Activism – How To Make An Impact
It was truly an honour to give a keynote on the main stage at the UIA World Congress of Architecture about Architecture and Activism, alongside change maker and politician, Councillor HY William Chan, with a panel moderated by Master of Ceremonies Connie Hedegaard.
The session was a powerful platform to discuss the need for a new movement: Archtivism, as well as a call for us to ditch “Reference Man” -an unrepresentative archetype- and form intergenerational and sectoral allyship to drive social and environmental change.
It was so special to speak on a stage that hosted such inspiring voices throughout the congress like Francis Kéré, Yasmeen Lari, Margrethe Vestager, Bjarke Ingels, Jan Gehl, Kunle Adeyemi, Chris Downey, AIA and many more.

The International Union of Architects UIA organises a World Congress of Architects every three years. Copenhagen was designated as The World Capital of Architecture 2023. The UIA- World Congress of Architects was held in Copenhagen from the 2nd to the 6th July 2023.
